What all do I need for a camping trip?

This weekend I’m going camping with some friends. We all are in our early mid 20’s and we haven’t really gone camping on our own. What all do i need to bring. I already have a tent, sleeping bag, cooler, first aid kit. hot dogs, bbq, beer. and all that good stuff. But besides the main stuff what should I bring, and like what to do when were are not hiking or on the lake.

South Tarryall Peak, Fire and Goats on the Air – SOTA

Slideshow: picasaweb.google.com The day started out by knocking the ice off the goat’s water after crawling out of my toasty sleeping bag. Soon were on the yellow brick road to the summit dazzled by the aspen’s amazing display of fall colors. The last 1000ft push up to summit was a 2-hour long bushwhack (literally) up a 45 degree slope of dead fall mixed with car size boulders tough going even for goats! This previously burned summit had reforested itself with raspberry shrubs and big plies of fresh red bear scat everywhere! Goats and I were on high alert the whole time. I was just about ready to fire up the ATS3b and launch a signal when a spotted a plume of white smoke in the valley below us. “Holly goatberries it’s a fire!” Says, Rooster. We had cell service so I called 911. They said they had crews in route. I felt relived as my truck was parked between summit and fire and the wind was blowing the fire towards us! Not good! Says, Peanut! With an eagle’s eye on the fire I proceeded to make a few contacts until my previously Rooster-smashed switches ceased to function which left us locked on 14060KHz …with no RIT and my keyer paddles kept jamming. Plus my MP3 audio recorder which I use as a logger was flashing ‘dead battery’! Top that off with the fire had now blown up and I could now see flames leaping skyward! “That’s it boys were outa here!” I literally torn down the antenna, threw things in my pack and turned for lower elevations. We thrashed through the deadfall

What's warmer one or two to a sleeping bag?

O.K. to me it’s common sense that two to a sleeping bag would be warmer. But I’ve a bet with a friend who says that one is warmer as that is the way sleeping bags are designed and body warmth doesn’t play a factor. If you know for a fact which is warmer I would appreciate your answer.

four season adult sleeping bag?

im looking for a 4 season adult sleeping bag that can easily fit into the bag that it comes with (i find it hard too get my current one in to its bag and this is becoming a problem when i have too leave the camp site quickly because i have over slept, and it often hangs half out of the bag), it would also be nice if it was fairly compact and fitted in a small bag (as long as its easy to get it into this bag and quick to do so) and it is at a reasonable price. dose anyone know of a sleeping bag like this that they have personally used or been with someone that has used one, could you please post a link to a website so i can by it, please bear in mind i live in the UK and don’t want to pay a lot for shipping thanks.
